Ethiopian Mining Association represents companies licensed in exploration and production of Minerals. Establishment and amendment of the association (EMA) vital prerequisites like business proposal, action plan and Article of association were adequately prepared by the founding members (Companies).
With continuous effort of the founding members (Companies) and kind work cooperation of Ministry of trade Mine as well as Document Authentication and Registration Authority” the desired Certificate of Registration of sectorial Association and amendment of Article Association was secured on November17/2023.

Mission & Objectives
The EMA mission is to build support for public policies that will help Ethiopia fully and responsibly benefit from our abundant mineral resources. Our objective is to engage in and influence the public process on the most significant and timely issues that impact mining’s ability to safely and sustainably locate, permit, mine, transport and utilize the nation’s vast resources.
The EMA serves its membership by:
- Promoting the safe exploration and production and use of precious, base metal and Industrial Minerals.
- Consulting with the stakeholders in the place where the precious metal, base metal and Industrial mineral
- Executing its own contribution to expand international mining exploration and production works in Ethiopia.
- Enhancement of the mining industry in the country
- Preparation of different international and national discussion forums and meeting concerning the mining sector.
- Holding workshops, facilitate visits and having experience exchange.
- Contributing its own share of contribution to upgrade the exploration and production of precious metal, base metal and Industrial material in Ethiopia to high level.
- Discussing about any kind of challenges that are faced in the exploration and production of precious metal, base metal and Industrial material with the government to obtain solutions.
- Establishing a strong Presence in front of Ministry Of Mine(MOM) and others concerned
- Serving as the information center for and a single voice of Ethiopian mining
- Serving as research center for further researchers
- Consulting with and supporting higher education institutes in their endeavours to provide adequate skilled and intellectual manpower in the sector.
- Provide its own share of contribution to enable the finance and banking institutes strengthen their support to the growth of the sector.
- Addressing the current and future policy needs of Ethiopian mining, mining equipment manufacturers and support services members of the EMA.
- Representing Members of the association in any governmental or non-governmental forums.
